Fluid Research provides specialised Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software and end-product solutions to automotive and automotive components, marine and environmental technology industries and  manufacturers. In particular, understanding, solution and optimisation of multi-phase flows is vital for the design of new products and emerging ‘green’ technologies.

The CFD product of Fluid Research is the GFS flow solver. This code has been applied to flow processes realised with internal combustion engines and automotive sprays, phase-change phenomena such as cavitation, boiling and vaporisation, design of injector nozzles, water management in fuel cells and environmental flows. Fluid Research develops physical sub-models which can be incorporated to GFS or other commercial/in-house CFD codes.

Fluid Research provides a range of services, including licensing of the GFS code, consultation on CFD related problems as well as specialised flow measurements including instrumentation, flow imaging and laser diagnostics that can be used as validation data for experimental model verification.

In addition, Fluid Research can provide software solutions related to automatic sorting machines, conveyor lines and logistic applications.
